Our story
Keith Sterling and his eldest son Michael can’t stop making fetching things.
Keith is an old-hand at creating delightful bits and bobs. A long time resident of Wagga Wagga NSW, Keith completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Charles Sturt University in the late 1980s. Equal parts silversmith and sculptor, the beauty of nature inspires his delicate creations of silver and wood. His work has featured at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.
Michael is an IT professional from Canberra ACT, who has followed in his father’s (creative) footsteps. From welding to woodwork and even cabinetry, Michael has always had a project on the go. He completed a course at the Canberra Potters Society, and it was clear he had found his creative calling. Mugs, plates, bowls, vases and more … Michael gets a kick from trying new designs and glaze treatments.
Keith and Michael have always tinkered with the idea of selling their wares. But it wasn’t until Michael’s pottery collection threatened to take over his family’s living room that they put their idea into action.
Sterling & Son is for people who care about where they shop. For people who want to buy one-of-a-kind homewares that will get used, appreciated and admired (and not end up in landfill!).
